Sri City, August 10, (ruralmedia) A 20 member Taiwanese high profile delegation from electronics industries, led by Mr. Francis Tsai, Chairman, India Economic & Trade Committee of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufactures’ Association (TEEMA) and Vice Chairman, GETAC Technology Corporation visited Sri City on Monday. Others senior members of the team included Mr. Kim Y C, Tsai, Chairman &CEO, Mobiletron Electronics Co., Ltd. and Director, TEEMA, and Samuel Kuo, President, Tyohm Electronic Works Co. ltd., Director, TEEMA. The delegates represent the complete spectrum of manufacturers producing electrical and electronic products in Taiwan, including computers/IT, Communications, Semiconductors, Optoelectronics, Consumer Electronics, etc.,
The intent of their visit was to have a formal survey of the electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) zone at Sri City, asses it’s business potential and explore the possibility of setting up electronic manufacturing units there.
Mr. Satish Kamat, President, Sri City Operations gave a warm reception to the delegates and Mrs. Raghini Peter, Senior Vice President, Marketing briefed them on the important features of Sri City with a particular reference to the EMC and the available infrastructure. Later, the delegation went around the site and witnessed the existing infrastructure facilities.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Francis Tsai said, “This was my second visit to Sri City, and the dynamic development taking place here is very impressive. All our members expressed satisfaction over the facilities available in the EMC and are impressed with the prevailing investment friendly climate.” They are keen to set up production units here.”
Commenting on the visit, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said, “The visit of TEEMA delegation is very important for us as their initiative of bringing Taiwanese investments in electronics segment will give boost to electronics manufacturing in Sri City.”
“As Sri City readily offers ‘every thing’ what a business needs, I am confident that the Taiwanese companies will prefer it for setting up their production units, ” he added.
Following the government of India’s in-principle approval for creation of an EMC in Sri City, electronic manufacturing companies from India and from other countries are showing a lot of interest to set up their units there. The proactive policy of the government of Andhra Pradesh towards electronic industries will attract more and more electronic manufacturers to invest in the state. It may be recalled that Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) had already signed an agreement with Sri City for setting up an Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) units here.
