Legislative Process, Media role and Responsibilities
As part of continued efforts of raising the standards of Parliamentary Affairs in India … the Bureau of Parliamentary studies and Training (BPST) under the Guidance of Parliament secretariat of the New Delhi has conducted a 3 day workshop on name of 7th familiarisation program on parliamentary procedures. The Honorable Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Dr. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao has taken extensive initiative to send a team of AP Accredited Journalists for this session.
This special session by the Parliament was conducted for the accredited journalists of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka from the dates 03-08-2016 to 05-08-2016 . The Training program was In the premises of Parliament Bhavan, giving them a full awareness on constitutional practices and Parliamentary Procedures. The senior veteran Parliamentarian Shri Murli Manohar Joshi has shared his view with delegates on constitution and responsibilities of various Parliamentary committees.

The Honorable Advisor to BPST and MP shri DR.Raghunandana Sharma has inaugurated the program while other senior parliamentarians like Shri. Oscar Fernandez, Dr. vinay P. Sahasrabuddhe , Sri. P.D. Roy also delivered interactive lectures on various topics such as “Legislative Process, Media role and Responsibilities in strengthening the democracy. The procedural factors on Parliament Questions by concerned members and even day to day Affairs of business of Parliament” are widely discussed by the senior members and officials of Parliament.
Sri. D.P. Kamath, the chairman of Press Advisory Committee of Parliament has explained the extent of freedom of media and Responsibilities of media persons. The Joint Secretary Of Lok Sabha Sri. Ravindra Garimella has delivered his extended lecture on parliamentary privileges, thus concluded the session with his Address to the gathering and a valedictory function on to Friday, on the last day of Program
The Journalists delegates are experienced the live sessions of parliament and observed the business procedures and debates in both Lok sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Andhra Pradesh team has expressed their sincere thanks to Honorable Speaker Sri. Kodela Sivaprasad Rao for making a choose of them for this special event. As part of program, the Journalist team also visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan, National Museum and Parliament Library also.
The BPST secretary, senior officer Kalpana Sharma has presided the total program as well explained the role of BPST in educating the new MPs, IAS officers and other categories for a standard maintainable procedural code in and outside of the country. The other senior officers and Director BPST sri. Pulin Bhatia, Joint Director Dr. Seema Kaul Singh, Balaram Sahoo has extended their full length cooperation organized entire event with the journalist delegates.
Among the attendees for this national level session from Andhra Pradesh are the senior Editors Of Gemini TV and Times of India Sr. Venkata Satyanarayana (Sai), Sri. Krishna Prasad, Senior reporter of Andhrajyothy Ms. Sowjanya, and the chief Editor of Real News of India Mr. Vijay R. Annapareddy. The team is given a consent by the Honorable Speaker of AP sri Dr. Kodela Sivaprasad Rao and the entire program was coordinated by his Media Liasioning officer Ravi kumar Boppana with the Journalist team from AP to this national level event.
