Hyderabad , March 22(ruralmedia) : All the accredited working journalists of Andhra Pradesh will be given health coverage for the financial year of 2016-17 .
Announcing the Government decision, Minister for Information and Public Relations Dr.Palle Raghunatha Reddy said G.O.Ms.No.23 has been issued today facilitating extension of the Working Journalists Health Scheme for the current fiscal of 2016-17. He further said that the Chief Minister Mr.N.Chandrababu Naidu has taken special interest in the extension of the health scheme to the journalists who have been working hard in taking welfare and development schemes to the door steps of people. The Minister for Information and Public Relations urged all the working journalists to take full advantage of the scheme which is unique in the country.
The Honourable I & PR Minister said that all working journalists could now get treatment for over 1000 procedure’s in over 500 empaneled corporate super speciality hospitals and Government Hospitals. The Minister for Information and Public Relations recalled that Chief Minister Mr.N.Chandrababu Naidu launched the scheme at Vijayawada in June 2015. So far, 6,400 health cards were issued to the journalists covering 19,826 family members of the journalists.
He said the CEO of the Arogyasri Health care Trust and the Commissioner of I & PR would take necessary action to ensure that fruits of Government health schemes are extended to all accredited working journalists as well
