Two-Year diploma course in organic farming
So as to create confidence among the youngsters and make them self-reliant in organic agriculture, the Eklavya Foundation established the Ekalaya Academy for Organic Farming in Gingurti village, in a large farm of 70 acres. Since 2015, it has been offering a two-year diploma course and mould youngsters as skill oriented experts in organic farming.Young men below 21 years of age, cleared 10th class, hailing from agricultural background and with zeal to explore can apply for joiningthis residential course.
The curriculum includes 70% field and activity based resulting in experiential learning, and the remaining is theoretical.The training encompasses subjects like agronomy, physiology, entomology, pathology, soil science, vegetable cultivation, water management, horticulture, manufacturing organic manure etc., Those who passed out from the academy are progressing well in organic farming. ONGC funds the Training Centres
Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) has come forward to allocate funds from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget to construct buildings of the Tribal Training Centre at Lingapur and Agriculture Training Centre at Gingurti village.
