Scaling new heights…
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao congratulated a batch of 31 young students studying in Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) and Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) who have successfully scaled one of the toughest peaks of Himalayan range, the Mt. Renock on 7th December 2015. The CM said that it is a remarkable achievement and the state is proud of these students. CM also said that this is the 2nd time in a row, that the young children of the Societies achieving such a difficult feat.
It may be recalled here that these young mountaineers were given rigorous training at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Darjeeling. Last year M. Poorna and S. Anand of TSWREI Society successfully climbed Mt. Everest.
The event acquires much more significance if we look at the back ground of the boys and girls who achieved this dare devil feat. Among them there are young girls who have never seen the district head quarters or any big city /town in their life. Some of them come from primitive tribes like Chenchus and Kollam who never knew what mountaineering is before they embarked on this glorious adventure. They never heard of train journey. Their parents are very poor and working as laborers. But with the support and inspiration given by the TSWREI Society and TTWREI Society the young boys and girls have achieved the herculean task of scaling Mt. Renock and carved a niche for themselves.
