In the current scenario, where the farmers are reciting to the use of higher amounts of pesticides and chemical fertilisers in the quest for high yields, an attempt was made by Ekalavya foundation to gain awareness in the farmers about organic farming in Jingurthi, Vikarabad district.
300 farmers were trained in vermin-compost preparation along with zero budget cultivation procedures. One among those were Yadamma who implemented organic farming in one acre land for bitter gourd cultivation and is gaining aboutRs.50,000 annually.
